Rapunzel - Teen Workshop
Grand County is important to us. This is our home. We grew up here, we work here, we play here, and we live here.
The main draw for our staff is not the glory that comes with being a part of the theatre or the huge (ahem) financial gain one gets from being in the arts, but instead the beautiful area we live in. Our actors continually fall in love with Grand County and many return year after year. Some have even adopted Grand County as their full-time home.
We do theatre because we love it and we want to share that with all of you. That's why we feel it is essential that we do what we can for this community.

Middle Park High School Drama Program
Tanny & Kimberlee Nanda the drama directors at Middle Park High School. "This is where we got our start and we want to give back." It's important for students to have these kind of creative outlets. Programs like these sometimes tend to fall through the cracks so we felt it was our responsibilty to not let that happen at our high school.
Youth Workshops
THE TWILIGHT ZONE - There are a lot of young aspiring actors in this community looking for a place to perform. We know. We were doing the same thing in high school. The Twilight Zone was entirely for them. High School Students from Middle Park High School rehearsed and performed a show all their own. They were given a chance to see what it feels like to be in this profession.
School Performances
Our actors went to some of the local schools and performed for the students. After which we held talkback sessions where the performers were able to speak candidly about theatre, their experiences, and the discipline it takes to do what they do. We have also had schools take field trips to our theatre to see a show and learn about all the offstage magic that makes things work.
Library Reading Programs
During summer's youth reading programs, we wanted to know how we could get involved. Every Summer, we perform our children's show @ The Granby Library. Last summer we performed HOW I BECAME A PIRATE for nearly 80 children!
Open Stage Program
There is nothing worse than an empty stage. We encourage local youths to take advantage of our facilities. We have hosted Teen Dance Nights, Youth Concerts, and Poetry Readings. Parents know we provide a safe environment, free of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco products, for their children to be creative and have fun.
The Grand County Learning & Education Center
In January, we held 3 benefit concerts to help with The GCLEC program. All ticket proceeds went to the GCLEC. We helped raise awareness and funds for the program.
Donations
The Grand Theatre Company makes numerous donations to local programs including The Grand Foundation, The Boy's & Girl's Club, The Shining Stars Foundation, Advocates, Partners, as well as other Charity Auction Programs.
